In figure, if AB || DE, ∠BAC = 35° and ∠CDE = 53°, find ∠DCE.

Solution
∠DEC = ∠BAC = 35° ...(1)
| Alternate Interior Angles
∠CDE = 53° ...(2) | Given
In ∆CDE,
∠CDE + ∠DEC + ∠DCE = 180°
| ∵ The sum of all the angles of a triangle is 180°.
⇒ 53°+ 35° + ∠DCE = 180°
| Using (1) and (2)
⇒ 88° + ∠DCE = 180°
⇒ ∠DCE = 180° - 88° = 92°.
