Illustrate that metals are good conductors of electricity. Which metals are used for this purpose?

Set up an electric circuit as shown in Figure. Place some material like paper, wood and metal in the circuit between terminals A and B. It will be seen that the bulb glows only when a metal is put between the above mentioned terminals. It shows that the circuit is complete and current passes only when a metal is placed. Thus, metals are good conductors of electricity. Because of availability and good conducting property, aluminium and copper wires are used for making electric connections.
