Question
“...whenever we are told to hate our brothers ...” When do you think this
happens? Why? Who ‘tells’ us? Should we do as we are told at such times?
What does the poet say?
Solution
During wartime, the leaders of a country fill the minds of the people with the feeling of hatred against hatred. They want nothing other than their personal gains. We should stop acting as a puppet in their hands and understand that war is not going to benefit anybody and analyses the situation before jumping to conclusions. The poet says that if we fight against them, we kill and condemn ourselves.
