A vending machine is a new and complementary form of retailing. It is a slot machine operated by coins or tokens. The buyer inserts the coin or a token into the machine and receives a specified quantity of a product from the machine. Vending machines are used to sell prepacked and low cost products of mass consumption e.g. soft drinks, hot beverages, cigarettes etc.
