Given,
Refractive index of ice, n_i = 1.31
Refractive index of rock salt, n_s = 1.54.

Refractive index of rock salt with respect to ice,

$n_{si} = \frac{n_{s}}{n_{i}} = \frac{1.54}{1.31} = 1.176 .$
