Define periodic motion. Give examples.
When the motion of a body repeats itself regularly after a fixed interval of time, the motion is called a periodic motion.
Some examples of periodic motion are:
(i) Motion of a planet around the sun.
(ii) Motion of the hands of a clock.
(iii) Motion of a ball bering rotated in a circle at the end of a string.
