Find the value of k, if x = 2, y = 1 is a solution of the equation 2x + 3y = k.

Solution

If x = 2, y = 1 is a solution of the equation 2x + 3y = k, then these values will satisfy the equation. So, putting x = 2 and y = 1 in the equation, we get
2(2) + 3(1) = k
⇒ 4 + 3 = k
⇒ k = 7.
