Account for the following:

(v) Sleeping under a tree at night is not advisable.

Solution

At night, photosynthesis does not take place, and so plants do not absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. However, respiration occurs in plants through the night and they release carbon dioxide. There is an increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the surrounding air which is harmful. Therefore, sleeping under a tree at night is not advisable.
