Why does a man feel weightlessness while sitting inside a freely falling lift?

Answer

The apparent weight of man in a lift falling with acceleration a is given by, 
                    Wa = m(g-a) 
The acceleration of free-falling lift is g. 
∴                   Wa = m(g-g) = 0 
Hence a man feels weightlessness.
