In each of the following cases, determine the direction cosines of the normal to the plane and the distance from the origin.
z = 2

Answer

The equation of plane is
z = 2 or 0x + 0y + 1.z = 2
It is of form lx + my + nz = p
where l = 0, m = 0, n = 1, p = 2
∴   direction cosines of the normal to the plane are 0, 0, 1 and distance from origin = 2.
