Arithmetic Progressions
Find the 10th term from the end of the following A .P. :
(i) 1. 6, 11, 16............201
(ii) 3, 6, 9, 12........... 102
(i) We have, l = 201,d = 5
∴ 10th term from the end
= l – (n –1) d
= 201 – (10 – 1)5
= 201 – 45 = 156.
(ii) We have, l = 102, d = 3,
∴ 10th term from the end
= l – (n – 1)d
= 102 – (10 – 1)3
= 102 – 27 = 75.
