How did Edla Willmansson intercede for the vagabond ?
On realising that the peddler was an old acquaintance, the ironmaster asked him to go away from there at once. But Edla intervened and told her father that the poor fellow was chased away by all and welcomed by none. He should be allowed to enjoy a day at peace with them.
