She took him on trips, bought him telescopes, microscopes, cameras, mounting materials and other equipments, and helped him in many other ways. She always supported him in his scientific endeavors. she gifted him the book,'The Travels of Monarch X' that proved to be a turning point in Ebright's life. Not only that, she wrote to about her son's efforts to Dr. Urquhart who guided him in his researches later.
