States with high literacy : After Kerala (90.9%) Mizoram (88.8%) occupy second slot and Lakshadweep (86.71%) is at third position.
Beside these, the are other states which have high literacy rate are : Delhi, Chandigarh, Pondicherry, Andaman and Nicobar and Daman and Diu.
States with low literacy : These are Bihar (47.0% the lowest literacy rate), Jharkhand (54.13%), Jammu and Kashmir (54.45%), Arunachal Pradesh (54.74%), Uttar Pradesh (57.45%), Rajasthan (61.03%) and Andhra Pradesh (61.13%).
