Answer

i) when diethyl ether react with one mole of conc. HI, it form C2H5OH and C2H5I.
CH3-CH2-O-CH2-CH3 +(conc.)HI ---> C2H5OH +C2H5I
ii) When diethyl ether react with excess of HI, it form 2C5H5I.
CH3-CH2-O-CH2-CH3 +(excess)2HI ---> 2C5H5I +H2O
