How Personality can be assessed through DAPT?

Solution

DAPT—Draw- A-Person-Test. It is a simple test based on the psycho-dynamic approach, where the subject is asked to draw a person on a sheet of paper. After that he/she is asked to draw a person of the opposite sex. Finally the subject is asked to make a story about the person assuming that he/she is one of them..

Some examples of interpretation are as follows:

• Missing of facial features suggests that person tries to evade a highly conflict ridden interpersonal relationship.

• If there is a graphic emphasis on the neck that suggests lack of control over impulses.

• Disproportionally large head suggests organic brain disease and a pre-occupation with headaches.
