A signal wave of frequency 11.5 kHz is modulated with a carrier wave of frequency 3.45 MHz. What are the deviation in frequency of FM wave and bandwidth of it?

Solution

Given,
Frequency of signal wave, $ν$ _s = 11.5 kHz

Frequency of carrier wave, $ν_{c}$ = 3.45 MHz = 3450 kHz

Therefore,

$∆ v = D e v i a t i o n i n f r e q u e n c y = v_{c} - v_{s}$

$= 3450 - 11.5 = 3438.5 KHz$

$b a n d w i d t h = 2 v_{s} = 2 \times 11.5 = 23.0 KHz$
