Solution

Given,
Height of tv tower, h = 400 m
Radius of the earth, R = 6400 km

Coverage range is given by,

d = \sqrt{2 hR} = \sqrt{2 \times 400 \times 6400 \times 1000} = 71.554 \times 10^{3} m = 71.554 km .
