In n-p-n transistor circuit the collector current is 10 mA. If 90% of the electrons emitted reach to the collector, find the base current and emitter current.

Solution

Given, an n-p-n transistor.

Collector current, I_{C} = 10 mA I_{C} = 90 % of I_{E} (g i v e n) \Rightarrow I_{C} = \frac{90}{100} \times I_{E} ∴ I_{E} = \frac{I_{C} \times 100}{90} = \frac{10 mA \times 100}{90} = 11.11 mA .

Base current, I_B = I_E - I_C
= (11.11- 10) = 1.11 mA
