Solution

Wavelength of the photon, $λ$ = 5000 $\overset{o}{A} = 5000 \times 10^{- 10} m$

Rate at which the photons are emitted = 10^-8J/s

So, number of photons emitted, n =
$n = \frac{E}{\frac{hc}{λ}} = \frac{10^{- 8}}{\frac{6.6 \times 10^{- 34} \times 3 \times 10^{8}}{5000 \times 10^{- 10}}} = 252 \times 10^{8} photons$
