When the final image is formed at the least distance of distinct vision,
magnifying power is,

m = - \frac{v_{0}}{u_{0}} (1 + \frac{D}{f_{e}})

For the image to be formed at infinity, u_e = f_eand

m = - \frac{v_{0}}{u_{0}} . \frac{D}{f_{e}}

By making focal length of the objective lens small, the magnifying power can be increased.
