What is the wavelength of a photon whose energy is 1 eV? In which part of the electromagnetic spectrum is it?

Solution

Energy of photon, E = 1 eV

Using the formula,
Energy $= (hv) = \frac{hc}{λ}$
$∴$ $λ = \frac{hc}{energy} = \frac{6.625 \times 10^{- 34} \times 3 \times 10^{8}}{1.6 \times 10^{- 19}}$

$λ = 1.24 \times 10^{- 5} m$

This is Infrared rays.
