The electric vector of a plane EM wave oscillates sinusoidally at a frequency of 4 × 10¹⁴ Hz. What is the wavelength of the wave?

Given,
Frequency of the oscillating EM wave,

ν

= 4 × 10¹⁴ Hz.

Therefore using the formula,

λ = \frac{C}{v} = \frac{3 \times 10^{8}}{4 \times 10^{14}} = 0.75 \times 10^{- 6} = 7.5 \times 10^{- 7} m .

which is the required wavelength of the wave.
