Solution

The impedance of LCR circuit is

Z = \sqrt{R^{2} + (X_{L} - X_{C})^{2}} = \sqrt{R^{2} + {(2 π vL - \frac{1}{2 π vC})}^{2}}

The variation of Z with v is as shown in figure.

At v = v_r; X_L = X_c.Therefore,
Z = R is minimum.
