Focal length of biconvex lens

 f = 12n - 1                           .... (i)

For plano-convex lens

1f1 = n - 11R - 1   f1 =Rn - 1                             .....(ii)

Comparing Eqs. (i) and (ii), we see that focal length becomes double

As power of lens P  ∝ 1focal length

Hence, power will become half.

New power =42
