For the first ball,

$h = 0 \times t_{1} + \frac{1}{2} {gt}_{1}^{2} . . . . . . . . . (1) \Rightarrow t_{1} = \sqrt{\frac{2 h}{g}} For second ball, 2 h = 0 \times t_{2} + \frac{1}{2} {gt}_{2}^{2} . . . . . . . . . . (2) t_{2} = \sqrt{\frac{4 h}{g}} From equation (1) and (2) t_{1} : t_{2} = 1 : \sqrt{2}$
