A slab of area 2400cm2 and thickness 8cm is exposed to steam at 100°C. A block of ice is placed on the upper surface of slab. The ice on the slab melts at the rate of l.5gm/s. Find the thermal conductivity of material of slab. (Take latent heat of ice 80cal/gm).

Mass of ice melting per second, m = 1.5 gm/s

Latent heat of ice, L = 80 cal/gm = 80x4.2 J/gm
