The thermometric liquid used in thermometers should have the following properties:
(i) should have low heat capacity,
(ii) should be good conductor of heat,
(iii) should have large temperature coefficient of expansion,
(iv) should have uniform rate of expansion,
(v) should not be volatile and sticky, and
(vi) should have high boiling point and low freezing point.
