Question

Why the electrons in beam from an electron gun do not fall as much as a water molecule in stream from a hose due to gravity?

Solution
Vertical distance by which projectile falls while travelling a given distance in horizontal direction is,
space space straight y equals 1 half straight g straight x squared over straight u squared
From the above relation, straight y proportional to space 1 divided by straight u squared.
Velocity of electron from electron gun is greater than the water molecule from hose. Therefore, for a given horizontal displacement x, the vertical distance by which the electron beam falls is less than that for water molecule.
