Maximum and minimum magnitudes of the resultant of two vectors of magnitude A and B are in the ratio 4:3. Find the relation between A and B.

Solution
The maximum magnitude of the resultant of two vectors = A + B.
Minimum magnitude of the resultant of two vectors = A – B
Here,       fraction numerator straight A plus straight B over denominator straight A minus straight B end fraction equals 4 over 3
rightwards double arrow         3 straight A plus 3 straight B equals 4 straight A minus 4 straight B

rightwards double arrow                  straight A equals 7 straight B
