Explain in short any two organs of the United Nations.
The two organs of U.N. are explained below:
(i)General Assembly - General Assembly is the largest organ of the U.N. and consists of all the members of the U.N. At present 193 states are the members of the General Assembly. Mainly General Assembly is the deliberative body and it also approves the annual budget of the United Nations.
(ii)Security Council - Security Council is mainly responsible for the maintenance of international peace and security. The Security Council is the executive body of the United Nations.
At present it consists of fifteen members. Five big powers (England, U.S.A., France, Russia, China) are the permanent members of the Security Council and ten are the temporary members elected by the General Assembly for a period of two years.
