Solution

The power of a lens is measured in dioptre (D).

Here, we are given a convex lens.

Focal length,

f = + 50 cm = + \frac{50}{100} m = + \frac{1}{2} m

∴

Power of the lens,

P = \frac{1}{f} = \frac{1}{\frac{1}{2} m} = 2.0 D .
