Umbilical cord	Placenta'
It is flexible cord like structure connecting the foetus to the placenta. It contains the blood vessels which carry blood to and fro between foetus and the placenta.	The region where outer covering of the embryo develops contact with the tissues of the uterus of the mother is the placenta. Finger like projections (villi) of the embryo and the tissues of the uterus in which they are embedded constitute the placenta. Placenta helps the foetus to derive nourishment and oxygen from the body of the mother and helps in elimination of waste material.
