Find the equation of the plane with intercept 3 on the y-axis and parallel to ZOX plane..
Solution
Since the plane is parallel to plane ZOX i.e. y = 0
∴ its equation is of form
y = k ...(1)
This plane makes intercept 3 on y-axis i.e. this plane passes through (0, 3, 0)
∴ 3 = k
Putting k = 3 in (1), we get,
y = 3, which is required equation.
