Diameter of the base of a cone is 10.5 cm and its slant height is 10 cm. Find its curved surface area.

Solution
V Diameter of the base = 10.5 cm
therefore  Radius of the base (r) = fraction numerator 10.5 over denominator 2 end fraction  cm.
= 5.25 cm Slant height (l) = 10 cm
∴ Curved surface area of the cone = πrl
equals 22 over 7 cross times 5.25 cross times 10 equals 165 space cm squared.
