Solution

Total surface area of the suitcase = 2[lb + bh + hl]
= 2[(80 cm x 48 cm) + (24 cm x 48 cm) + (24 cm x 80 cm)]
= 2[2840 cm² + 1152 cm² + 1920 cm²]
= 2[6912 cm²]
= 13824 cm²
∴ Total surface area of 100 suitcases = 100 x 13824 cm²
∴ Total cost of 100 suitcases = Rs 0.05 x 100 x 13824
= Rs $5 over 100 cross times 100 cross times 13824$
= Rs 5 x 13824
= Rs 69120.
