Note: Area of trapezium = $1 half cross times left square bracket sum space of space the space parallel space sides right square bracket$
$cross times$ [Perpendicular distance between the parallel sides]
Area of the given trapezium:
$equals 1 half$ x (Sum of parallel sides) x (Perpendicular distance between the parallel sides)
= $1 half cross times left parenthesis 9 plus 7 right parenthesis space cm space cross times space 3 space cm$
= $1 half cross times 16 space cm space cross times space 3 space cm$
= 24 cm²
