1. Directive planning refers to that planning under which demand and supply forces are directed in such a way that there is stability in the economy.

2. There is no intervention on the part of state in the development process. Only private sector is directed what to do and what not to do so that there is harm to national interest and there is maximum personal profit.

1. In comprehensive planning, government itself participates in the process of growth and development of an economy.

2. In comprehensive planning, private sector and public sector co-exist. Like capitalism, personal profit is maximum and like socialism, social interests are encouraged.
