What problem did Dr. Sadao face? How did the General plan to solve it?

Solution

Dr. Sadao was standing with his wife on the veranda of their house. They saw a wounded and escaped prisoner of war crawling on the beach. They brought him home but the servants were badly against them. Sadao performed the operation. His wife helped him. There was a great risk of Dr. Sadao being arressted for harbouring the prisoner of war. Being a patriot, he declared every thing to the General. The general was very close to Dr. Sadao. He had firm faith in Sadao’s faithfulness and surgery. He called him in the night because there arose a problem in his gall bladder. During the treatment he assured him all possible help, security and safety. He assured him that he would get the white American killed quietly by his private assassins that night. He asked Dr. Sadao to keep open the outer partition of the white man’s room into the garden while he slept. He told that the assassins would remove his dead body without making any noise. Doctor Sadao could not afford to see it. Therefore, he made the man escape in the night. In this way the general helped him in solving the problem.
