Ocean transport is more important than any other transport in international trade because:
1. It is cheapest means of transport.
2. Oceans are free highways with no maintenance cost as in roads, railways, aircrafts and shipping canals.
3.Modem ships carry far larger goods then railways and roadways.
4.All continents are connected by sea.
5.Refrigerated chamber of a larger ship can carry huge quantity of perishable goods such as meat, fruits etc.
