Distinguish between first and third layer of oceanic water.

The First Layer	The Third Layer
i. It represents the top layer of the warm oceanic water and it is about 500m thick and with temperature ranging between 20° and 25°C. ii. This layer within the tropics is present throughout the year, but in mid-latitudes it develops only during summer.	i. It is very cold and extends upto the deep ocean's floor. ii. In the Arctic Ocean, the surface water temperature are close to 0°C and so the temperature change with depth is very slight.
