Describe the post-fertilisation changes in a flower.

After fertilization the zygote is formed. The zygote then undergoes many division by the process of mitosis, to form an embryo by a process called embryogenesis. The ovule of the flower develops into a seed which along with the embryo is covered by a protective seed coat.  The sepals, petals and stamens of the flower wither and fall off. The ovary forms the fruit which is covered by a protective thick wall called pericarp. The seeds germinate on meeting favourable conditions.   - Wired Faculty
