Solution

Rate of production of water

$= \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{d [H_{2} O]}{dt}$
Rate of disappearance of oxygen

$= \frac{- d [O_{2}]}{dt}$
$∴$ $= \frac{- d [O_{2}]}{dt} = \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{d [H_{2} O]}{dt} .$
