Solution

Electronic configuration of Scandium is 1s² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s² 3p⁶ 3d¹ 4s².
On the basis of incompletely filled 3d orbital in case of scandium atom in its ground state (3d¹), it is regarded as a transition element.
