How do trees in the Tropical desert forests adapt themselves to the dry climate?
Trees in the tropical desert forests have long roots which go out deep in search of water. The leaves of plants are waxy, small and thick to reduce transpiration. Thus, trees in the tropical desert forests are able to adapt themselves to the dry climate.

Forest cover in India is shrinking because of the following reasons:

cultivation activities.

(iii) Overgrazing has resulted in the depletion of forest cover.
(iv) Increasing demand for timber for industrial expansion and urbanisation has led to deforestation.
(v) Construction of multipurpose river valleys has led to the submergence of lands and destruction of forests.
