Mention two reasons why the Lucknow pact is considered important in the history of the Indian National Congress.
i. It created understanding between the Muslims League and Congress.

i. The movement infused new life in the national movement and made Indian consious of their rights.

It was founded under the leadership of Bal Gangadhar of Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Annie Besant.

What was the importance of the Lucknow Pact of 1916?
The Lucknow Pact was extremely important because it embodied an important step in the direction of Hindu-Muslim unity. The Lucknow Pact was a sign of the coming together of the leadership of the two communities on one hand, and a compromise between the moderate and extremist factions within the Indian National Congress on the other.
