The Chinese art is based on the imagination of the painter and is considered as the spirit resides in it that gives the essence of inner life. Where the Europian art is more about figurative paintings that are realistic and perfectly resemble with the real objects.
The Chinese painter Wu Daozi used to draw paintings from imagination and Quinten Metsys from Belgium painted a realistic fly to impress the father of the girl he had fallen in love with. 

Shanshui literally means 'mountain water' that represents 'landscape'. Mountain is Yang, that is stable, warm, dry and reaches vertically towards the heaven. While the water is Yin that is fluid, moist, cool and horizontally resting on earth. Yang is masculine and Yin is the feminine aspect of universal energy, reflecting the fundamental notion of Daoism.  

Outsider art is described as the art of those who don't have the rights to be artists as they have received no formal training, yet show talent and artistic insights. Art brut or raw art includes the art works in their raw state as regards cultural and artistic influences. 

An 80-year-old creator-director, Nek Chand from India was the 'untutored genius who created a paradise'. He made a garden known to the world today as the 'Rock Garden' at Chandigarh. He contributed to outsider art, sculpted stones and used recycled materials.
